From high school sweethearts to business owners and investors, Caleb and Kayla Ardoin are improving the landscapes of homes and business in Houston, TX and surrounding areas. Learn how this power couple plans to build a legacy for generations to come.
Who has influenced you? Who are your favorite greats?
Our parents and grandparents have always been a great influence on us. Instilling the importance of a great work ethic and exemplifying how far ambition can take you.
Some of our favorite greats are Robert Kiyosaki author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and Brandon Turner host of the “Bigger Pockets Podcast”.
Why did you choose the path you’re currently traveling?
Freedom! We want to create something that can forever be a spring board for our family, generations to come. The only way we saw that this would be possible is to build and nurture our own business while creating passive income streams.
How would you describe your brand, business or projects?
We are a landscaping company tailor made for real estate investors and property management companies. We work exclusively with property managers, real estate agents and investors. Our brand is built on knowing what investors want and need because we too are building our wealth through real estate investing. What better way to know that your asset is being taking care of than it being cared for by like-minded individuals that have the experience of being in your shoes. Our landscapers are trained with the idea of approaching the job from the investors point of view, this keeps costs down while still making sure the landscape is in tip top shape to reel in potential tenants.
How would you describe your fan base? Who would you like to reach?
Our clients are all individuals in the real estate industry professionally from HOA management companies, AirBNB Hosts, Real Estate Agents, Loan Mortgage Officers, Property Management Companies, and Real Estate Investors.
Do you have any other projects, businesses or brands you’re currently working on? If so, feel free to explain:
We will begin launching the Maintenance portion of our operation. This division will be responsible for cleaning and repairing minor damage to the inside of of the property to prepare the home to be put on the market for sale or lease.
What or who motivates you?
We gain most of our motivation from each other. Having a spouse is very similar to having a business partner. Even when you are not on your A-game, you have someone in your corner that can take the lead and knows what to do or say to get you back motivated. Having that person in your corner is very significant because road blocks are inevitable and knowing you have someone you can trust that wants to win just as bad as you motivates you to push through the tough times.
Who do you plan to influence with your work?
“Everybody Black” Issa Rae Voice
What do you think is your purpose in life?
To leave a legacy to our family of faith, love, and financial literacy. To live a life that serves as motivation to anyone that wants to move their family forward economically while having and maintaining spiritual peace.
How did you come up with your business name?
Our business name is Legacy Landscaping and Maintenance. We knew our businesses would be an extension of us no matter what industry it would be in. So our Legacy is what we are building and we put it in front of what our business offers which is Landscaping and Maintenance.
What is your favorite part about being in your industry? Least favorite?
Favorite would be low operating margins. Least favorite is that landscaping in the real estate industry traditionally has a high turnover rate for contractors.
What are your long-term goals?
We would like to be the #1 choice of Landscaping Vendors among property management companies in the Houston area and then expand to other cities in Texas.
Tell us anything you’d like the world to know about you.
I’ve noticed that business opportunities will consistently present themselves. When they do, I suggest you choose wisely & prepare yourself and your surroundings before embarking on a new venture. Whichever path you end up taking, don’t give up. On the other side of working through each obstacle is a milestone that motivates you to get to the next phase of your journey. Keep God first and never lose sight of your vision. These are the business morals I stand by.
